Brandverhalten von Flugzeugsitzen und deren Komponenten
K. Dussa, R.Fiala, P. Grefte, R. Wagner
NB8-Kriterien erflillen sollten, beitraqen.

Cabin Water Fire Suppression Systems - When and how effective?
Richard Lewis
| Many organizations have carried out tests. The ability of a known density of correctly sized water droplets to suppress the effects of fire, is proven. The amount of water required has in tests, been reduced to as little as 8 US gallons for
many aircraft types. A convincing case can be made to demonstrate that a Cabin Water Fire Suppression System (CWFS) could save many more lives in the next 40 years than some other presently installed systems have saved in the past 40 years. |

Carbon Fiber Production at Low Temperatures from Polyacryonite
D.E. Cagliostro
Recent safety considerations have sought to lower the electrical conductivity of carbon fibers. Carbon fibers produced from polycryonitrile at low carbonization temperatures (600 degree 900C) possess low electrical conductivity but do not possess adequate strength. Low temperature processes are described which improve fiber strength but not increase electrical conductivity substantially. The processes result in a carbon fiber with nearly twice the tensile strength compared to the old process. Process development and its effect on fiber properties are reported.
